OKLAHOMA MILITARY DEPARTMENT
As part of an on-call Architect/Engineering Service contract, CJC Architects has assisted the Oklahoma Military Department with the repair and modernization of their aging armory facilities located in communities across the state.
Goals included the interior space planning of the buildings to better match the needs of the soldiers and their missions, better support for the increasing role of women in the armed services and to provide new infrastructure for the technologically advanced equipment used by the units.
With all of the original mechanical, electrical, and plumbing systems well beyond their service life; the existing systems were replaced to optimize energy efficiency and reduce annual operational costs.
As these improvements were made, the facilities were made to comply with current life safety and accessibility codes, as well as incorporate the anti-terrorism and force protection requirements mandated by the federal government.
